EMPLOYMENT
I have been working in communications for decades, first as a newspaper reporter and arts/dance correspondent (Troy Record, Albany Times Union), then as a writer and editor for numerous labor unions, and a VP for a public relations firm. I served as an adjunct journalism professor at the University at Albany for several years and spent 20 years as associate director of communications at Union College in Schenectady, N.Y. I have been freelancing articles and essays since the 1980s. My work has appeared in a host of anthologies and in the New York Daily News, Albany Times-Union, The Sun magazine, authormagazine.com, The Women’s Times, Writer’s Digest, The Los Angeles Times Syndicate and on WAMC public radio. While making a living from my writing, I have continuously taken time away from the pen and the computer to express myself visually through drawing, painting and collaging.
